The GoPro Mountain Games hit Vail from June 5-8
Looking for excitement and outdoor fun in the mountains? The country’s largest celebration of adventure sports, music, and the mountain lifestyle is here again when The GoPro Mountain Games return to Vail, June 5-8, 2014. You don’t have to be an athlete to enjoy the games, there are lots of opportunities to cheer on professional athletes AND dogs!
How much does all this cost? IT’s FREE! You can watch anything at the Mountain Games for free. There are also numerous free clinics and/or demos for you to experience as well. Concerts will start at 7:00 pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Concerts are all held at Checkpoint Charlie on Gore Creek Drive in the heart of Vail.
The GoPro Mountain Games are the nation’s largest celebration of mountain sport, lifestyle, and music featuring top professional and amateur athletes from around the world. The environmentally-friendly adventure sporting event hosts approximately 3,500 outdoor athletes, along with an estimated 53,000 spectators.
Athletes converge on Vail’s mountains and rivers to compete in 25 sports for over $110,000 in prize money. Events include kayaking, rafting, stand up paddling, mountain biking, road cycling, World Cup Bouldering, amateur climbing, fly-fishing, trail running, the Slackline World Championships, mud runs, dog runs, and a half marathon.
