About the Burton US Open

When it comes to professional snowboarding in The United States, there is always one event that races through the back of everyone’s minds: the Burton US Open. The event is 37 years in the making and features some of snowboarding’s best athletes from around the world. For example, results of past championships have included titles from the likes of Shaun White, Mark McMorris, Yuki Yadono, Chloe Kim! The Open features events in both slopestyle and halfpipe every year. If you’re in the area this February, this is an event that you’re not going to want to miss!

What to Expect

Apart from some incredible snowboarding, the event brings an unbelievable amount of excitement along with it. After watching your favorites sore through the air for a chance at a gold medal, take a chance to enjoy some of the other events and activities that the Burton US Open features. For example, this year’s US Open offers four nights of free concerts, daily apres specials, fundraisers, and plenty of other daily activities for guests of all ages. There is even a closing ceremony in the Dobson Ice Arena! There isn’t a more exciting way to spend your time in Vail!

Where to Get Tickets

One of the US Open’s best features is that it’s completely free to the public. Anyone is welcome to join in on the fun. If you wish to view the event from one of Vail’s chairlifts, a lift ticket and ski equipment are required. To purchase lift tickets in advance, visit Vail Ski Mountain’s website or call 970-754-8245. The closing ceremony in the Dobson Arena on Saturday night is the only thing that requires tickets. Tickets to this party are complimentary and available on a first-come, first-served basis!
